Hydro-Mix VII Flush Mount Moisture Sensor - Connections
The Hydro-Mix is a flush mount moisture sensor that can be connected to a control system in three ways: analogue, digital or via the Hydro-Control water control unit. These different options provide the plant manager with the flexibility to select the most suitable method of connecting to their control system.
Digital Connection
The Hydro-Mix provides an RS485 serial interface which allows sensors to connect directly to a control system via the serial communications link. There are various options for interfacing between the sensor and the control system including a Hydronix approved Ethernet, USB or RS232/RS485 adapter.
Analogue Connection
The Hydro-Mix provides 2 linear control outputs, 4-20mA, 0-20mA (0-10V using 500R) for connection to a batch control system or current loop meter.
Hydro-Control Connection
For applications that use the Hydro-Control as a method of controlling the addition of water in the mixer, the Hydro-Mix can be connected using the RS485 digital output.
Cabling
Hydronix supplies various cable lengths incorporating the required 10 way MIL-SPEC connector. This enables the sensor signal to be sent to a Control System or PC for configuration and calibration. For Hydro-Mix VII sensors, part number 0975 is required if multiple control outputs are needed.
