SIZE
Diameter
108mm, Length 140mm.
FIXING
Secured
to fixing plate welded to underside of mixer by a clamp ring which
allows the depth of mechanical penetration of sensor to be adjusted.
The maximum thickness of mixer base including wearing plate is 60mm.
Recommended size of circular cut out in mixer to accommodate sensor
127mm.
CONSTRUCTION
Body:
Stainless Steel (304) End Cap: Stainless Steel (304) Faceplate:
Syalon ceramic
RANGE
OF MOISTURE
Dependent
on material properties. For standard concrete mixes the sensor will
measure up to approximately 15% (dry weight basis). For lightweight
aggregates the range will be higher.
PENETRATION
Approximately
75-100mm dependent on material.
SUPPLY
VOLTAGE
Wide
range power supply input 15 - 30Vdc (recommended nominal supply
voltage 24Vdc). Requires approximately 140mA at +15Vdc, 100mA at
24Vdc.
TEMPERATURE
Operating
temperature 0-60 degrees C. N.B. The sensor will not measure moisture
in frozen materials.
ANALOGUE
OUTPUT
Configurable
0-20mA or 4-20mA current loop source. For 0-10Vdc output an external
500R load resistor or 'compatibility mode' cable is required.
DIGITAL
INPUT
A 24Vdc
digital input is provided for batch average start/stop or moisture/temperature
multiplexing purposes. N.B. The digital input return is connected
to the power supply return.
RS485
Opto-isolated
RS485 2-wire port. Uses Hydro-Link communications
protocol for read/write access to sensor parameters and values.

REFRESH
RATE
Outputs
are updated approximately 25 times per second.
MEASURED
VALUES
Including:
Instantaneous (smoothed) unscaled and moisture percentage; Filtered
unscaled and moisture percentage; External temperature 0-60¡C ±1
degree C.
Digital filtering can be configured from the Hydro-Link
Diagnostic software to condition the sensor reading to suit the
application.
CONNECTIONS
The
sensor is fitted with a 10-way MIL-SPEC connector. A 4 metre 8-way
cable pre-wired for connection to a waterproof termination chamber
is available.
In 'compatibility mode', a 4 metre 6-core screened cable fitted
with 6 pin 'Bulgin' male and female connector and 500R load resistor
can be used for 0-10V applications when the HP-02 is used to replace
an existing sensor.
The use of this cable is not recommended for new installations and
does not allow RS485 operation. Click here to see connection diagrams.
EXTENSION
CABLE
For
multi-drop RS485 applications, a screened twin twisted pair cable
can be used to supply both power and interface connections. The
cable core diameter should be rated according to the maximum number
of sensors in use.
For
point-to-point analogue applications with no RS485 requirement,
a screened twin-twisted pair is recommended.
For
0-10V applications a 500R load resistor should be mounted at the
user equipment. When used with the 'compatibility mode' cable, a
6-core screened cable with 16/0.2mm strands should be used to minimise
the signal voltage drop in the cable. Cable length maximum 500m.
GROUNDING
The
sensor body is connected to the cable shield. Power input and signal
interfaces are galvanically isolated both from the sensor case and
from each other. Care must be taken to prevent cable shields from
carrying ground noise and fault currents which they are not designed
to do. Ensure equipotential bonding of all exposed metalwork.
ELECTROMAGNETIC
COMPATIBILITY
Meets
the requirements of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive
89/336/EEC.
